Samaresh Majumdar : ウィキペディア英語版 | Samaresh Majumdar Samaresh Majumdar ((ベンガル語:সমরেশ মজুমদার); born 10 March 1942) is a well-known contemporary Bengali writer from West Bengal, India. He is known for creation of the detective character Arjun, who is the central character of the 2013 film Arjun – Kalimpong E Sitaharan. The Bengali film ''Buno Haansh'' which released on 15th August, 2014 is also based on his novel titled Buno Haansh. ==Early life and education== He spent his childhood years in the tea gardens of Duars, Gayerkata Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, India. He was a student of the Jalpaiguri Zilla School, Jalpaiguri. He completed his bachelors in Bengali from Scottish Church College in Kolkata.〔''Some Alumni of Scottish Church College'' in ''175th Year Commemoration Volume''. Scottish Church College, April 2008, p. 590〕 His first story appeared in ''Desh'' literary magazine in 1967. ''Dour'' (Run) was his first novel, which was published in ''Desh'' in 1976. He was associated with the Ananda Bazar Prakashana, a major publishing house in Calcutta.
